The dynamic hairstylists at Carte Blanche Coiffure all have several years of experience under their belts. Most of them test their mettle during competitions, where they have developed their unique styles. Owner-stylist Tal Fisher first won the Wella Trend Vision Award for Quebec, and then for Canada. During the world competition held in Paris, Tal represented Canada and took the fourth spot for a creation that incorporated makeup, hairstyle, colour, clothing and photo. Customers can drop in for a consultation during which they will be given expert advice about what look will suit them.

The Salon
The owner describes the style of his salon as Parisian art deco. Apart from the esthetics room, the space is open and relatively bare. Three colours — red, black and white —dominate the decor. All the workstations are black, while the chairs and exterior awnings are a striking red. The waiting room is also meticulously laid out. Three red chairs and a large black art deco couch are positioned to welcome customers, who can sit comfortably until their stylist is ready for them. Tal Fisher grew a little tired of Zen-style salons complete with bamboo, stones and water fountains. He drew the inspiration for his salon from Parisian salons, which boast a more fashionable, European flavour.
