Tangaro started as a project to build something different for our home. We found whilst shopping for furniture the once lower end furniture materials such as particle board and vinyl wrap seemed to be used in furniture at higher price points.
Many items looked the same or similar and within our (sensible) budget we struggled to find a piece of furniture that would really add to our home and provide some pride of ownership. We could find some beautiful pieces of bespoke and handmade furniture but at much, much higher pricing.
The reality is that most high street furniture is produced from mass production kits made with CNC (computer controlled) routers and saws. We don’t have a problem with this in itself but we do believe that a lot of this furniture is sold at very high prices considering the low cost of materials and manufacturing process.
The high volume, low cost manufacturing business model limits what can be done at affordable pricing as production runs need to be long and materials need to change little to maximise efficient production.
We believe that it does not need to be this way. There is room for small, independent furniture makers to support the local market with something different, using quality materials at very affordable pricing. People are often quite shocked when they see our furniture and are told the price. We believe that the products we provide could easily cost 2 or even 3 times the price we sell at.
We are socially and ethically responsible and we are committed to supporting the local businesses wherever possible.
We really hope you like our new lounge range, we have taken time to try and produce something completely different using high quality materials and of course at great prices.
